Mass Effect 2

We'll have to have a topic dedicated to the first episode of this trilogy as it already offered a great gaming experience.

Soon the second episode arrives. Mass effect 2 will be released on early 2010: on January 26 in North America and January 29 in Europe; only on PC and X-Box 360.

I'm really excited about what I've read in that news.
pcgameshardware.com wrote:The Science Fiction series is set up as a trilogy. In the second part the decisions made by the player are supposed to have more effect on the story as it has been the case in Mass Effect 1. According to Dr. Ray Muzyka the game evolves into an unforgettable RPG experience.

Till January, don't forget to check regularly the official website, http://masseffect.bioware.com, with frequent previews available :)

I received my copy last Thursday, technically PC but it's the same game whether it's pc or xbox :P

I finished it yesterday, finally.

When they say suicide mission, they do mean suicide mission. There is one point in the game where you can jump into the 'end mission', fully knowing you're not ready. Of course, it's all about planning more or less.

One of the things that I really liked is that every action you took comes back slightly in ME2. Even your background you choose, comes back in some form. You can get communications (emails) from people so basically they'll be thanking you for what you've done (Go go Paragon Shep).

The interrupt system is also nice, but could have been more often happening. You can do a Paragon interrupt, which will sometimes make you go 'awww', or a Renegade option, which will make you go 'ouch'.

Also very nicely done is the beginning cinematic and the ending cinematic. There are a gazillion endings, depending what choices you made, so I can't wait to replay. Also the 'end visual' scares me >.>

Meh can't say more about the game without spoiling it, so I shall refrain. I shall say one thing: I've read a lot of comments that people care about the characters and found it an emotional game. They are right. ME1 was epic, this is even better. Sure there are some things that annoy me, but overall I'm one happy fangirl.

About time, now go play :P

Oh and one word of advice, or several in fact. When you do import a character from ME1, customise the face anyway. I didn't do that and I got some graphical glitches (eyes poking out of the head etc), and overall it looked just damn weird in ME2. ME1 character looked fine, ME2 character looked weird.

Oh btw, there are three promo items you can't get in Europe. As far as I know.

Here is a work around:

Go to the Dr. Pepper website, create a account, insert promo code (found here. Choose the item you want, and you're done. Now log out and repeat the process.

I tried it and it worked =]

Go to this website: http://www.drpepper.com/promotions

Register an account, use one of the promo codes in the previous code (link)

Choose your extra content

And you're done

Then you go back to that website, log out, make new account, use promo code etc

Don't know?

I only played the game once and afterwards installed bonus content. Too bummed to play again at the moment :P

But the DLC should either be in your inventory/armor system, or you should be able to purchase it from merchants.
